The Nocturne ATOMIC BRAIN® AnalogBS-301 PREAMP for Guitar, Pedal Steel, Keys & Bass. Full Dynamic preamp booster in satin black w new OG LogoThis  all new version is now in a much smaller compact box, and single stomp! All the great sound of the DYNOBRAIN w/ an ABBY* mode that opens up the preamp for solo'ing or adding more punch/crunch to power chord. Wake up your guitar, hear your fingers through the amps speakers. Give that old amp a new reason to live :)

A Full sonic spectrum, VINTAGE JAPANESE preamplifier that is a very reactive, and tube like dynamic enhancement for your Amp and DAW buss inserts! Notes bloom and chords ring out while keeping your guitar tone up front and pure. I've replicated a much improved, let me repeat it, Vintage Japanese 70's preamp from the ROL@ND RE-301 Tape Delay machine known as the Space Echo. that is now true bypass & loaded with hi-fidelity audio components

We've Improved the input impedence, extended the gain range & added a Bass cut that the original RE-301 didnt have, this aids in use with cranked small amp to keep the speaker from farting out AND when the Bass Cut is dialed back to 7 oclock, the tone sweep will give you a leaner, tighter modern flavor. Dial it back to 4-5 o'clock for the vintage full low mids of the original character and color. a "vintage-modern" contour if you will.

All our preamps operate at 9v and 12v. I prefer to run mine at 9v for more texture and saturation at max gain.

note:

(*tech notes: ABBY MODE... this dB boost mode isnt acting like other drive boxes that employ cascading gain or double up on diode clipping . Its a bit of a unique approach to solve the request for a solo mode. It modifies the guitars impedance response.
The "ABBY" is opening wide the preamp gain range. Guitar solo's will stand above the band digging in at chorus intensity or even if at a turn around you want a cool melodic travis pickin pass.
The ABBY switch is taking your guitar from whatever level you have the NORMAL mode at and suddenly making everything like 35% more dynamic than it was (i dislike using "touch sensitive") so as you dig in for the solo the guitar is pushin into the amp or whatever is after it that much more. The more the normal channel gain is turned up, the more boost you will get from the "ABBY" mode.

*toggle switches explained:

left toggle is a high presence cut that takes a little gain in that frequency down a notch. the right toggle shifts the impedance so in the up mode, it feels louder but its actually increasing sensitivity to pick dynamics.

The left toggle help in a number of ways:

1.The left presence cut smooths out the top end overcoloring when you are using dynasonics or other large bobbin single coils

2. also nice for reducing Piezo quack on acoustic instruments.

3.  useful when you have other pedals in front of it that tend to brighten your signal like a boss pedal. Boss and ibanez/maxon pedals have an "Always on" active line buffer that pushes a high presence signal through the pedal whether stomped on or off. When stuff like this hits the atomic brain, the atomic brain preamplies all other noise artifacts in front of it. Effectively doubling the unwanted frequencies or hiss or whatever before it.

The right toggle is beneficial for:

1.Master volume amps, as when you flip it into the up position ye ol' master volume amps get the same benefit as non master amps, that tend to sound better with full range preamps. its a fix'er'er for em. Plus lets you hear your fingers on the fretboard when raging the gain.

2. when using piezo pickups, they want to see a much higher input impedance at the front'ish side of a preamp pedal. this helps acoustic guitars and upright basses

3. electric basses get more growls w this flipped up as well, really cool when your the low end guy and you want the rest of your band to hear your notes instead of just feeling them.

extra feature, flip all toggles up, stomp on the abby..turn down the global gain control just a bit above unity gain and thin guitars are suddenly fuller versions of themselves w the amp. adjust the bass cut to taste, enjoy.

the atomic brain preamplies all other noise artifacts in front of it. Effectively doubling the unwanted frequencies or hiss or whatever before it.  9Volt DC (-) tip  Boss style pwr.

Solid watch for the price
I have numerous nicer watches and often times I find myself wearing my Casio instead. The dial looks very striking for such an inexpensive watch and you don’t need to wind it so it always keeps time. The brushed metal looks very nice too. It’s pretty light weight and fits my wrist fine although I had to remove links when I got it. It’s also very easy to read. Would recommend
